COVID-19 Impact: For the Fall 2020 semester,
conducting seminars will be held via Zoom, like the Summer Sessions.
There will be no Choir Track for the Fall semester.

Tuition, Deposit, and Financial Aid

Once you are accepted into the program, you must secure your spot with a $200 deposit.  This deposit will be returned to you at the end of the school year.  Students who leave the program before the end of the school year will not have their deposit returned.

Tuition is $700 per semester, divided into two $350 payments each semester.  The first payment is due at the first seminar of each semester.  The second payment is due at the sixth seminar.  A $50/semester tuition discount will be given to applicants who submit their application by May 22, 2020.

For singers with financial need, scholarships are available.  Please contact us at info@dcalfine.com to obtain information about receiving a reduced tuition rate.

Attendance Policy

The busy life of a high school or college musician all but guarantees that at some point you will need to miss at least one of our seminars.  You are encouraged to fully participate in your school’s choral program, and if a concert conflicts with our seminar, you should participate in your school’s concert.

In the event you must miss one of our seminars for any reason, it is your responsibility to provide advance notice of your planned absence.  If you must miss the night of one of your assigned conducting slots, it is your responsibility to arrange a swap with another participant.

Tuition remains the same, regardless of how many seminars you are able to attend.

In a typical year, if Fairfax County Public Schools declares a snow day, our seminar will be cancelled and no make-up date will be scheduled.  The second semester has 16 Thursday Seminars scheduled to make-up for the likelihood of cancelled Seminars. In a distance-learning year, snow days won't cancel a Seminar. :)
