Concerts

D.C. al Fine's performance season includes 2 concerts (one in December, one in April) and one community outreach workshop/concert at the end of the performance season.

In its inaugural year (2012-2013), the choir may also have the unique opportunity to perform in the graduate conducting recital of its founder and artistic director, Melodie Henderson.

Outreach Workshop & Concert

Our performance season culminates with a workshop and concert put on by the members of our choir.  This event happens on a Saturday in April.  The purpose of this event is to teach the members of our community the skills they need to be better, more confident musicians.

The workshop is for community members, and is intended to help them learn musical skills that will increase their level of comfort with participating in the music at church.  Workshop participants of all ages (children through adults) will be tutored at basic and advanced levels in singing technique, musical literacy and vocabulary, and conducting.  Along the way, they will also learn to sing the famous Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah and one other selection.  The workshop ends with a joint concert put on by D.C. al Fine and the workshop participants, who will be asked to join in on the Hallelujah Chorus and the other selection they learn that day.
