Online Application

COVID-19 Impact: For the Fall 2020 semester,
conducting seminars will be held via Zoom, like the Summer Sessions.
There will be no Choir Track for the Fall semester.

The Application Process - Seminar Track

The Seminar Track is for students who are interested in learning and refining the skills necessary to become an outstanding choral conductor and educator. For the 2020-2021 school year, this track may be a great way to experience choral music in-depth and with friends if distance-learning continues.

Applicants must submit the online application by June 5, 2020 to be considered for the program
.

A $50/semester tuition discount will be given to applicants who submit their application by May 22, 2020.

Application Materials

You must complete the application in one sitting.  You cannot save part of your application and return to finish it later.  With that in mind, here are the free response questions you will be asked to answer:
  • List the choirs you have participated in during the last few years.
  • Describe any conducting experience you have had.
  • List any singing training, honors, and awards you have received.  Include approximate dates/years.
  • List any other musical training or experience you feel is relevant.
  • If you could choose one piece to conduct in an SATB choir, what would it be, and why would you choose it?
  • Write a brief goals statement (1-3 paragraphs) describing what you hope to get out of participation in this program.
  • Have you reviewed the Details and Tuition information page, and are you prepared to accept those terms if you are accepted into the Seminar Track?
  • The day for our weekly conducting seminar has not been set for 2020-2021.  Please indicate which weeknights you are available for our conducting seminar from 7:30 - 8:30 pm (ET).  Indicate any that apply (choices include Tuesday and Thursday).
